L'Arche recognizes the spiritual and religious needs and aspirations of its members, and respects those who have no spiritual
or religious affiliation. Our community and faith life inspire us to be open to people of differing intellectual capacity,
social origin,religion, race, and culture.

L'Arche Communities are places of hope. Each person is encouraged to grow in
love, self-giving and wholeness as well as independence,competence and the ability to make choices.
Community life together revolves around sharing daily needs, difficulties, joys,
prayer and celebration.

L'Arche is an international federation of Communities, and in the UK L'Arche is a registered charity, that provides support
for people with learning disabilties. It has a network of more than 110 communities in 30 countries worldwide, and 9
communities in the UK.
The Ipswich Community is supported and guided by the national
and international L'Arche organisation. The L'Arche UK website provides a wealth of material describing the ideas and achivements of communities worldwide.
